Much quality of life for adults with developmental disabilities emerges from connections and relationships with people in our local communities. Horizon Centre, in cooperation with our area partners, act to encourage connections and linkages so that individuals can benefit from those natural supports.

Horizons Centre is a significant part of the community and has the responsibility to satisfy the expectation of our membership, customers, stakeholders and community.

We are proud of our most recent accomplishment of being recognized by the community as the 2009 Chamber of Commerce Service Organization of the year.

Adults with developmental disabilities have the right and responsibility to be self-determining, and to participate actively in the social and economic life of their communities. We see the ability of communities to welcome and include adults with developmental disabilities. Horizons Centre strives to educate and build awareness of the importance of inclusion and act to encourage the opportunities for individuals to participate and contribute in their community. We support learning opportunities for individuals, families, staff and community groups to gain a better understanding of how individuals with developmental disabilities can be involved in and contribute to their community.
